Find EV charging stations near a place.
This tool lists the public EV charging stations registered in the Bureau of Energy Efficiency's EV Yatra database within 15 km of a town, locality or landmark you name - station name, address and straight-line distance - and plots them on one map.
It resolves the place name to a coordinate, pulls the EV Yatra station list for that state through ULIP, removes the near-duplicate records the database carries for the same physical charger, and returns the 20 nearest, nearest first.

What is EV Charging (EV Yatra)?
EV Yatra is India's national online database of public EV charging stations, run by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the Ministry of Power. Charge point operators (CPOs) register stations on the web portal; the EV Yatra app (Android and iOS) shows each one with charger types, slot availability, tariff and service fee, navigation and booking. This tool reads the same list through the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP).
The Ministry of Power's Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles - Guidelines and Standards of 14 December 2018 made charging a de-licensed activity. The 1 October 2019 revision named BEE the Central Nodal Agency, let operators choose charger types, and set targets of one station per 3 km x 3 km city grid, one every 25 km on both sides of highways and a fast charger every 100 km for heavy-duty vehicles. The 14 January 2022 guidelines directed BEE to maintain a national online database of public charging stations; EV Yatra, launched by President Droupadi Murmu on 14 December 2022 (National Energy Conservation Day), is that database.
The current rules are the Guidelines for Installation and Operation of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure-2024, issued on 17 September 2024 and amended on 10 January 2025. They tighten the targets to one station per 1 km x 1 km urban grid and every 20 km on highways and expressways by 2030, cap the electricity tariff at the average cost of supply - 0.7 times in solar hours (09:00-16:00), 1.3 times outside them - and cap the service charge until 31 March 2028 at ₹3 and ₹4 per unit for AC and ₹11 and ₹13 for DC. As of 1 August 2025 the Ministry of Power counted 29,277 public charging stations, led by Karnataka (6,097), Maharashtra (4,155), Uttar Pradesh (2,326), Delhi (1,967) and Tamil Nadu (1,781).
How the station list is built
Each EV Yatra record is one charging point entered by the CPO with name, address, pin code and coordinates. ULIP's EVYATRA/01 endpoint returns every station in a state and has no radius search, so this tool does it: it geocodes your place name with OpenStreetMap (India only, preferring a town or locality point over a district boundary), reads the state, fetches that state's list and keeps stations within 15 km by great-circle distance.
The raw list often holds several records for one physical charger - same coordinates, different ids, sometimes a blank name. Records whose coordinates agree to about 11 m are merged, keeping the copy with a name, then sorted by distance and capped at 20. Distances are straight-line, and the feed carries no charger type, power rating, live availability or price - check those in the EV Yatra app or the CPO's app before you drive.

Geocode the place
The name is resolved to a latitude and longitude inside India, preferring a city, town, village or suburb point over an administrative boundary.

Identify the state
The state in the geocoding result is mapped to ULIP's state id; a place outside the 37 supported states and union territories is rejected as invalid input.

Fetch the state list
ULIP EVYATRA/01 returns every EV Yatra station registered in that state, with coordinates, address and pin code.

Filter by distance
Each station's great-circle distance from the geocoded point is computed and anything beyond 15 km is dropped.

Merge duplicates
Stations whose coordinates match to about 11 m are collapsed into one, keeping the record that has a station name.

Rank and cap
The remaining stations are sorted nearest first and the closest 20 are returned.
How to check with EV Charging

Enter a city or location
Type a town, locality or landmark in the City or Location field - Indiranagar, Bengaluru or Erode - and press Search. The name is geocoded to a point inside India; no coordinates are needed.

Read the map and the count
Every station within 15 km appears as a pin on the overview map; the headline and tiles give the count, the nearest station and how many sit within 5 km. Stations by distance lists the cards nearest first - the first six are shown, View all expands the rest.

Focus one station
Each card shows the station name, a distance badge and the address. View on map zooms the map to that station alone and moves it into the side card; Show all returns to the overview. Directions opens the station in Google Maps. PDF and Share in the toolbar export or link the same search.
Why check for chargers before you go
Range planning that matches the road
A charger every 20 km on highways is a 2030 target, not today's coverage. Seeing where registered stations cluster around each town on a route shows where the gaps are.
Charger type and speed decide the stop
A Bharat AC-001 outlet delivers 3.3 kW, a Type 2 AC point 7.4-22 kW, a CCS2 DC charger 50-250 kW. A 40 kWh battery needs about six hours on 7.4 kW AC and under an hour from 20 to 80 percent on 50 kW DC - find the station here, confirm the charger type in the EV Yatra app.
Tariffs are capped, but vary by hour
Under the 2024 guidelines a public station pays 0.7 times the average cost of supply between 09:00 and 16:00 and 1.3 times outside it, and DC service charges are capped at ₹11 and ₹13 per unit respectively. A midday stop is cheaper by rule.
Public money is building the network
PM E-DRIVE (notified 29 September 2024, extended to 31 March 2028) reserves ₹2,000 crore of its ₹10,900 crore outlay for about 72,300 public charging stations. New stations appear in EV Yatra as CPOs register them.
Reading the result
Each card is one deduplicated EV Yatra record within 15 km of the place you searched. The map above the list shows all of them until you focus one.
- City or Location
- The place name you searched, mirrored into the page URL so the search can be shared or bookmarked.
- Charging Stations (N)
- Distinct stations within 15 km after duplicates are merged, capped at 20 - not the number of charging guns.
- Map
- One pin per station, fitted to show them all; hover for the name, click for name and address.
- Station name
- The name the CPO registered in EV Yatra. Records registered without a name are labelled EV Charging Station; the address then identifies the site.
- Distance badge
- Straight-line km from the geocoded point to the station's registered coordinates. Stations within 5 km are highlighted; driving distance is longer.
- Address
- The address as entered by the operator. Some records carry only a locality or landmark, so pair it with the map pin before navigating.
- View on map / Show all
- Toggles the map between one focused station and the full set; the focused card is outlined and its details move into the side card.
- View all N stations
- The list shows the six nearest by default; the button expands it to every station. The map always shows every station.
- An EV Charging Stations Report with the search location and a table of station name, distance and address.
- Share
- Copies a link that reproduces this search, or a text summary.

A locality followed by its city gives the most precise centre point. A bare town name (Erode) also works; a district or state name is too broad and resolves to the administrative centre.

Common problems
No stations found although the town has chargers
Only EV Yatra-registered stations within 15 km of the geocoded point are listed. Try the locality plus city (Indiranagar, Bengaluru) so the centre lands where you expect, or search the nearest larger town.
The place resolved somewhere else or was rejected
A name shared by several places may pick the wrong one, and a name whose state cannot be determined is rejected as invalid input. Add the district or state to the query, or use a well-known landmark.
A station shows as EV Charging Station with no name
The operator registered the point without a name; the address and pin still identify the site. If it is your station, complete the record on the EV Yatra CPO portal at evyatra.beeindia.gov.in - corrections reach this tool on the next lookup.
The station is closed, moved or has no working charger
This feed carries no live status. Check availability in the EV Yatra app or the CPO's app before driving; report a dead station to the operator and, for a subsidised station, to the state nodal agency under the Ministry of Power guidelines.
Charger type, power and price are not shown
The ULIP feed carries location and address only. Open the station in the EV Yatra app for charger type (Bharat AC-001, Type 2 AC, CCS2), slot availability and the tariff and service fee, which the 2024 guidelines cap at ₹3-₹4 per unit for AC and ₹11-₹13 for DC until 31 March 2028.
